Michelle Lim is Managing Director and Principal Trainer of Clarity Training and Consulting, a corporate training and development company that provides high quality training and consultancy services to organizations in both the private and government sector. Some of her key experience and expertise are in Business Writing & Communications, Presentation Skills, Customer Service and Facilitation Skills.
Michelle has trained and coached executives from managerial-level to management ranks from Fortune 500 Companies such as AIG, Chevron, Caterpillar, CISCO, Standard Chartered Bank and Cummins as well as from Global/European/Asian conglomerates and companies such as Jardine Lloyd Thompson, Sorin Group, Goodyear, Maybank, EZRA Holdings, Equinix, Progress, Parkway Pantai, Changi Airport Group, UOL Group, United Engineers Limited, Singapore Press Holdings and DSO National Laboratories.
Michelle also works with government agencies to improve communications and service in the public sector. She has provided training for executives, managers and directors in Land Transport Authority, Urban Redevelopment Authority, Home Team Academy, Prime Minister’s Office (Public Service Division), Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, National Environment Agency, People’s Association, Lee Kuan Yee School of Public Policy, etc.
Michelle brings with her 20 years of corporate/business experience and she is deeply familiar with business communications and customer service in the business-to-consumer (B2C), business-to-business (B2B) and government-to-citizen (G2C) markets. She has worked with and for multinational companies, SME enterprises and the government sector. With these wide ranging corporate experiences, she is able to design and deliver training that is highly industry-relevant and customized to the needs of her clients and participants.
Michelle was formerly from Citigroup, Strategy and Business Development group, where she managed high customer-impact projects in a complex cross-functional and multicultural environment. Her experience launching and managing major services for the bank provided her with the insight and depth in business communications and the end-to-end customer experience from the employee as well as organizational point of view. She also worked in Aretae Ltd, where she handled key client accounts such as SingTel, DBS, NEC, Sony and Zone Telecom. In her earlier career in the government sector, she was with the Ministry of Manpower, where she was one of the pioneer managers of strategic manpower planning, and was involved in setting up the relationship platforms and processes of the department in relation to other statutory boards and ministries.
Michelle graduated from National University of Singapore, with Bachelors Honours Degree (Economics and Social Sciences). She holds an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA certification, 2011), is certified as an Image Consultant (London Image Institute & Imageworks Asia, 2005) and was trained as Lecturer, Professional Development (Ngee Ann Polytechnic, 2004). She was also a Lecturer and Module Leader for many years with the School of Interdisciplinary Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

James Westberry has a passion for helping teams and individuals enhance strengths, overcome weaknesses, and achieve success through maximizing their potential, with an emphasis on understanding and maximizing the skills of each team member. He employs a combination of personal examples and stories, interactive learning, discussion-based exercises, self-reflection and humor to engage participants and stimulate mindset change in regards to their role in their organization and work team.
His expertise is Transformational Leadership, including developing transformational mindset, relationship development, overcoming communication challenges, resolving conflicts and relationship issues, transformational decision-making and problem solving, raising service standards, and transforming productivity challenges. He finds satisfaction in helping leaders enhance their capability in drawing the best out of individual team members.
James has facilitated training workshops with private and public listed companies, educational institutions and non-profit organizations over the past 25 years, with focus on developing leaders from CEO to mid-level management. His clients have come from the service, telecommunications, construction, education and non-profit sectors.
In leadership development, James has worked with leaders in changing their leadership style to discover and develop the strengths of their staff, as well as working with team members to enhance their participation and productivity. Team-building sessions are interesting, relevant and highly interactive, and vary from one or two day workshops to extended retreat sessions held in get-away environments. Sessions always include practical principles and specialized assistance for both the groups and the individuals involved. The understanding gained from such workshops is highly beneficial in both the work environment and family life as well.
Over the past 30 over years, James has held engineering, training and consulting positions as well as senior management roles in Operations, Human Resources and Administration in companies based in the USA and in Singapore. Early work projects took him from the USA to Europe, Japan and Africa. Based in Singapore for over 20 years, he has trained and consulted extensively in Asia, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
Recent positions were GM Operations, Director of HR & Administration, and Managing Director in the wholesale and service industries. His career has spanned from an engineer in the utility industry, to training, consulting and coaching, to senior management. Over the years, he has combined his systems, project management and planning strengths with an understanding of individuals and differences in cultures. James has brought structural change, lead mindset transformation, and raised service standards in the companies for which he has been privileged to work. He prepares extensively for training sessions with a focus on customized developmental training for leaders, teams and individuals.
James is an ACTA certified professional trainer and certified Coach. He holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Auburn University (USA) and a Master of Science (Environmental Engineering) from Nanyang Technological University. He is also certified in Myers-Briggs Psychological Types (MBTI) and Everything DiSC, and holds a Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE).
